Everything a European importer needs to know before placing their first order with d'art.
For catalogue items, the MOQ is flexible and can be discussed upon. We understand that first-time importers or specialized distributors may require lower initial volumes — please contact us to discuss your specific requirements.
Catalogue items: 4 — 6 weeks ex-works from confirmed order and payment.
Custom orders: 6 — 10 weeks including sample approval.
Sample production: 2 — 3 weeks for a physical sample of a new design.
Lead times may vary during peak seasons. We communicate proactively if any delay is expected.
Yes. We encourage all new importers to request physical samples before placing a bulk order. Samples are available at cost (sample price + courier charges). Once you place a bulk order, the sample cost is typically credited against your invoice. Contact us at exports@door-art.com to request samples.
Yes. You can mix different product categories and finishes in a single shipment, as long as each individual SKU meets the minimum order quantity. We will combine all items into one shipment to optimise your freight cost.

Yes. Technical drawings with full dimensions (handle length, fixing hole centres, spindle size, backplate dimensions, projection) are available on request for all catalogue products. Please contact us specifying the product code and we'll send them within 48 hours.
Our standard handles use an 8mm square spindle, which is compatible with most European mortice locks. Escutcheons and key plates are available in both standard keyhole and Euro-profile cylinder formats. Please specify your lock type when ordering. For specific DIN or EN standard compliance, contact us and we will advise accordingly.
Absolutely. This is one of our core strengths. Send us a sketch, reference image, CAD drawing, or written description and our R&D team will evaluate it. We can produce custom dies and produce bespoke hardware in any of our supported metals and finishes. MOQ for custom items is flexible and can be discussed upon. Standard terms for new buyers: 50% advance with order, 50% before shipment. For established buyers with a track record, we may offer extended terms. We accept bank transfers (SWIFT/IBAN). Please contact us to discuss payment options for your first order.
Standard shipping is FOB (Free On Board) Delhi or Mumbai. We can also arrange CIF (Cost, Insurance, Freight) to Hamburg, Rotterdam, or other European ports on request. The Incoterm is agreed per order. We work with experienced freight forwarders who handle sea and air freight regularly.

Absolutely — we welcome factory visits. Aligarh is approximately 2 hours by road from New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. Please contact us in advance to schedule a visit. We can arrange a factory tour, product review, and meeting with our team. Many of our international buyers visit before placing their first significant order.
